It was important for the project team to develop a plan for outreach and communication activities, including engaging stakeholders. The initial Outreach and Communications Work Plan provided a roadmap identifying what needed to be accomplished, when, and by whom.
As the project went forward, the plan was further developed into the Communication Management Plan, which outlined the project's group communication structure, communication roles and responsibilities, communication vehicles, and other communication guidelines. The Communication Management Plan was incorporated into the Project Management Plan (PMP), the project's primary planning document.
