To PATH Berkeley offices

PATH offices are located on the north side of campus in McLaughlin Hall, rooms 409A and 410 (4th floor).

From I-80/580 (from Sacramento or San Francisco)

  1. Exit from I-80/580 (north- or southbound) onto University Avenue, turning right from the exit ramp onto University (eastbound, toward the Berkeley hills).
  2. Continue on University Avenue for ~2 miles, until it terminates at Oxford Street, where you turn left.
  3. Travel 2 blocks and turn right on Hearst Avenue.
  4. Proceed up Hearst to the 2nd traffic light, Euclid. The North Gate entrance to the university is on the right.
  5. Park: Metered street parking (1 and 2 hour limit) is available along Hearst, as well as in UC-owned lots requiring a UC Berkeley parking permit. (For all-day parking, arrangements can be made with your PATH contact.)
  6. Once parked, walk through North Gate and take the first left, around North Gate Hall. (See the enlarged map with the arrow, above.)
  7. Continue on the pathway, turning right around O'Brien Hall.
  8. Go in the glass doors, turn right, and proceed to the elevator.
  9. Take the elevator to the 4th floor, turn left, and proceed across the breezeway into McLaughlin Hall. PATH offices are at the end of the hallway.

To the Berkeley Global Campus at Richmond Bay

PATH maintains offices, labs, and experimental facilities at UC Berkeley's 300-acre Global Campus at Richmond Bay (formerly known as the Richmond Field Station or RFS). This PATH facility, managed by the College of Engineering, is located about six miles northwest of the Berkeley campus. The entrance is about 1/2 mile from the I-580 Bayview exit and can be accessed from several directions.

From I-80/580 (from Berkeley, Oakland, or San Francisco)

  1. Traveling east on I-80 you will encounter the Berkeley exits of University Avenue and Gilman Street.
  2. After Gilman, take I-580 toward the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.
  3. Travel briefly on I-580 and exit on Bayview (second exit after the freeway splits).
  4. Proceed up the exit ramp and turn left (toward the Bay) after the stoplight.
  5. Descend from the overpass, proceed straight through the stop sign onto Meade Street, pass the "Campus Bay" office complex, and proceed to the Berkeley Global Campus, which will appear quickly on the left.
  6. Turn left on South 46th Street (the second left after the previous stop sign). PATH reception is located in Building 452, about 100 yards past the gate, on the right.

From I-80 (from Sacramento)

  1. Take the Carlson Blvd. exit and proceed on the local exit road until you reach Carlson Boulevard.
  2. Turn right onto Carlson and proceed to the next intersection with a stoplight, which will be Bayview.
  3. Turn Left onto Bayview and proceed across the I-580 overpass.
  4. Proceed on Bayview through two traffic lights and straight through the stop sign, to Meade Street.
  5. Pass the "Campus Bay" office complex, and proceed to the Berkeley Global Campus, which will appear quickly on the left .
  6. Turn left on South 46th Street (the second left after the previous stop sign). PATH reception is located in Building 452, about 100 yards past the gate, on the right.

From I-580 (from San Rafael)

  1. Take the Regatta Blvd. exit.
  2. Go straight through the light (onto Meade Street)  that borders the Berkeley Global Campus.
  3. Take the next right on South 46th Street and immediately  turn right again.

From the Berkeley campus

  1. Take Martin Luther King Way (the name will change to The Alameda) and turn left on Marin Avenue.
  2. Take Marin across San Pablo Avenue (Marin becomes Buchanan Street).
  3. Stay in the right lane, go over the overpass, then immediately turn right at the stoplight to enter I-580 by following the sign toward San Rafael (the left fork of the on-ramp).
  4. Exit on Bayview (second exit).
  5. Go up the ramp and turn left (toward the Bay) at the stoplight.  
  6. Go straight after the stop sign onto Meade Street, pass the "Campus Bay" office complex, and proceed to the Berkeley Global Campus, which will appear quickly on the left.
  7. Turn left on South 46th Street (the second left after the previous stop sign). PATH reception is located in Building 452, about 100 yards past the gate, on the right.

From the Berkeley campus via UC shuttle bus

The shuttle to Richmond Bay (RFS) starts at the Hearst Mining building, with stops at: (1) Oxford Street and University Avenue (near the UC Garage); (2) the Berkeley BART Station at Shattuck Avenue and Center Street; and (3) Albany Village at Jackson Street  and Buchanan Street.
