Modeling Response Plans

While the Connected Corridors team and project stakeholders will work to develop and finalize detailed response plans, modeling the plans must include:

  • detours
  • driver responses
  • response timing plans

All possible detours will be identified in the Aimsun model:

Driver responses

Parameters for modeling driver responses will include:

  • Locations where motorists receive guidance
  • Detour route(s) followed
  • % drivers accepting guidance
  • % other drivers adjusting their route based on observed traffic conditions
  • Event triggering driver responses
Response timing plans

Preliminary timing plans will be developed using the available Synchro model of the corridor:
